Starting at Calvary United Methodist Church, where you can browse antiques and crafts at the Christmas Shop, the guided tour will take you into some of the finest, most lavishly decorated Victorian homes of Old Allegheny West. Learn about Victorian holiday traditions and about some
of the notable residents of the Allegheny West neighborhood. Following the tour, visit one of the world’s largest toy train museums. House tour, $35; train museum tour, $15.

Who doesn’t love pancakes? Who doesn’t love Santa? From 8 a.m. to noon, Saturday, December 12, these beloved institutions will come together at the still-pretty-new Mt. Lebanon High School cafeteria. The high school’s Winter Guard serves up the pancake breakfast, which is sure to draw the always hungry Santa to the event. Games, face painting, crafts, cookies and more. A boutique, and more. Live music, and more. More. $8, adults; $4, children 2-5.

The Deacon Cookie Sale at Sunset Hills United Presbyterian Church, 900 Country Club Drive, is Saturday, December 12, from 9 a.m. to noon. Fresh baked cookies, breads, pastries and a variety of freezable goodies. Proceeds benefit Deacon missions and community outreach.
Saturday December 12, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Mt. Lebanon United Methodist Church British Tea Room. Soup, scones, tea and a cookie sale. Proceeds benefit United Methodist Women’s Mission to Women, Children and Youth.

On Saturday, December 12, Sts. Peter & Paul Ukrainian Orthodox Church will hold its 12th Annual Cookie Walk, from 10 to noon, at 220 Mansfield Boulevard in Carnegie. Nut crescents, fruit filled kolache, Ukrainian truffles, Italian rum balls, almond cookies, hamantaschen and Russian tea cakes along with hundreds of beautifully decorated holiday favorites. Cookies will be sold by the pound. Proceeds go toward community outreach programs and maintenance and beautification projects of the church, designatedas a historic landmark by the Pittsburgh History & Landmarks Foundation.

At 7 p.m., on Monday, December 14, at Mt. Lebanon Public Library, licensed professional counselor Paula Kauffman Oberly will provide simple strategies to help you relax and enjoy the holiday season. The presentation will focus on recognizing how our bodies respond to anxiety and how awareness of this can lead to more control over its negative impact.

The South Hills Chorale will perform its annual holiday concert program Friday, December 18 and Saturday, December 19, at Westminster Church on Washington Road in Upper St. Clair.
