PICTURE THIS! Instead of the usual raffle of baskets and gift cards for local businesses, the Ward Home’s annual fundraiser, Picture This!, will sell artwork created by the teens the facility serves. The event starts at 6 p.m., Saturday, March 29, at the Pittsburgh Glass Center, Penn Avenue in the East End. As Pittsburgh’s leading provider of independent living programs for at-risk teenagers, the Ward Home uses proceeds from its annual event to enhance programming, improve living facilities and increase educational support for the 160 teens it serves each year. In the months leading up to the event, Ward Home teens will participate in a photography workshop at Silver Eye Center for Photography and attend classes at The Pittsburgh Glass Center, where they will be mentored in various photography and glass art techniques so they can create items to sell at the event. Tickets are $75 at 412-722-1404 x 236 or cturner@wardhome.org [5].
