Mt. Lebanon Public Library hosts Noir-vember, a mini noir film festival over three weeks. All films 6:30 p.m. Registration required.

November 13  Film Noir: Bringing Darkness to Light

A documentary about what noir is.

November 20: Double Indemnity

The story of a housewife accused of killing her husband, the insurance salesman who helps her, and a claims adjuster who tries to work out what happened.

November 27:  The Lady in the Lake

An adaptation of Raymond Chandler’s 1943 Philip Marlowe novel.

Saturday, November 25

Joshua Bell and the Pittsburgh Symphony team up for a concert inspired by hope and the power of the human spirit. This unique evening will give voice to lessons and stories from the Holocaust, while showing how music can build bridges of understanding. 7:30 p.m.

 

Highmark Blues & Heritage Festival

Friday, November 3 and Saturday, November 4
Groove on the music at the Highmark Blues & Heritage Festival at the August Wilson African American Cultural Center. The two-day festival features Bobby Rush, Eric Gales, Omara Portuondo and Pete Escovedo. 8 p.m.

 

Cannon Ball Fundraiser Gala

Friday, November 3
Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hall and Museum comes alive with fine food and other festivities highlighting this patriotic, black-tie event. Entertainment provided by Felix and Fingers Dueling Pianos. 5:30 to 11 p.m.
