denis goes to the oscars!

Inviting you to the Denis Theatre Foundation’s Oscar night parties are, from left, Joe Kirk, the foundation’s chair of government grants; Laura Buerger, chair of community gifts; and Dan Deiseroth and Carol Oxenreiter, co-chairs of major gifts. Not pictured is Nick Kuhn, chair of corporate/foundation gifts.

The Denis Theatre Foundation is rolling out the red carpet for all of us who did not score a ticket to the Academy Awards (and we’re guessing that’s everyone who is reading this). Don’t worry about squeezing into that Alexander McQueen gown or pulling the tux out of the mothballs, the Denis Goes to The Oscars! event is not about fashion, it’s about having fun while raising funds for the foundation (although festive Oscar attire—formal or otherwise—is welcome!). The parties begin at 7:30 p.m., Sunday, February 26, at Bistro 19 on Washington Road and at Atria’s, 4059 Washington Road in Peters Township. Each venue will feature appetizers, desserts, a cash bar and activities for movie lovers (perhaps a little prediction competition?) with all proceeds benefitting the foundation’s efforts to renovate and reopen the 74-year-old theater that closed in 2004. Tickets are $50 (Bistro 19) and $25 (Atria’s) at oscar@denistheatre.org, www.denistheatre.org or 412-523-3063. A few tickets will be available at the door for $60 and $35. For information on the foundation’s capital campaign, see page 13.
