Construction of East End Brewing’s Mt. Lebanon Taproom Nears End

Owner Scott Smith prepares for the opening of East End Brewing’s Mt. Lebanon Taproom.

East End Brewing is one step closer to opening its Mt. Lebanon Taproom at 651 Washington Road.

The taproom received its certificate of occupancy, paving the way for a planned March opening. “Excellent news,” according to owner Scott Smith, Longuevue Drive.

The year-long construction project is the single biggest investment in East End Brewing’s history. “Mt. Lebanon has been our family’s home for the last 18 years now, so it just feels right,” Smith pointed out.

Permitting from the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board is still pending. The new South Hills location will offer 16 taps of East End beer and cider, in addition to Pennsylvania-based cocktails and carefully selected PA wines. Thick-crust Sicilian style East End Chewing pizza will also be on the menu, in addition to soups, sides and beer-friendly bar snacks, with lots of vegetarian and vegan options.

“We’re really excited to bring everything we’ve built and learned in the East End of town to make this space in the South Hills a place where everyone can feel welcome,” Smith said.
