alk into the Grey Parrot Consignment Gallery, 320 Castle Shannon Boulevard, and there’s a good chance you’ll be greeted by Elvis, the African grey parrot the store is named after.

It’s no coincidence Grey Parrot’s mascot is named Elvis. Owner Natalie Lichtman’s grandfather, Bernard Grenadier, was the contractor who built the meditation garden at Graceland, where Elvis Presley is buried, and the waterfall in the mansion’s jungle room. On top of that, her great-uncle, Marty Lacker, was the best man at Elvis’s wedding.

Lichtman was born in Memphis, but grew up on Arden Lane and James Place in Mt. Lebanon. She now lives in Upper St. Clair and has always loved consignment stores. She has fond memories of helping her mom, Sheila Grenadier, at Classy Kids, the consignment store Grenadier used to own on Greentree Road.

“I love meeting new people. The people of the community have been absolutely wonderful. The consigners and the customers are just great and I love it and can’t be happier to be in Mt. Lebanon where I grew up and was raised,” Lichtman said.

Grey Parrot customers can find an assortment of merchandise in the upscale consignment store, including furniture, home décor, clothing, accessories, designer handbags and more.

In addition to the usual items, she added a men’s and sporting goods department. “The husbands are loving coming in with their wives now,” Lichtman said.

Formal wear for men, women and children includes suits, dress shirts, blazers, evening gowns, mother of the bride gowns and even wedding gowns.

Grey Parrot sets the selling price and does a 50/50 split with the consigner. Items that don’t sell after 90 days can either be returned or donated. 412-398-8101.
