At the Jan. 23 commission meeting, Municipal Planner Keith McGill announced that the request for proposals for the update to the municipality’s Comprehensive Plan is almost ready to go. Although the plan is normally updated every 10 years, municipal staff decided to wait until the results of the 2010 census were available so we would have access to the most recent demographics. McGill said he expects the RFPs to go out in early February with responses likely due in 45 days. He was not sure of the timeline because it will depend on the responses.
McGill said a big goal of this year’s plan is to garner plenty of input from residents.
When it’s done, the Comprehensive Plan will help guide municipal land use to make sure it fits within the community’s goals.
