deer yard [2]DEER ON THE MOVE A hilarious recording of a phone call has been making the rounds on the Internet. A woman calls a local radio station to complain about the placement of new deer crossing signs in her town. It seems the signs have been placed in an area known for congested traffic. She suggests town officials move the signs to a quieter street so that the deer will cross in a safer area.

Deer are very active at this time of year, and we wish they could read, too. Thankfully people, can, so the municipality has installed new deer crossing signs to remind drivers of areas where deer tend to congregate. The map is available online. [3]

The best we can do is to be extra careful when driving, especially at dawn and dusk, knowing that our deer travel just about anywhere. Keep a safe speed wherever you drive, even below the speed limit in areas where you know deer cross.
