Lebo Light Night, that magical time when all things are possible, will be from 6 to 9 on Thursday, November 19, on Washington Road. Hot chocolate, candy canes, a Christmas tree, tree lighting by Santa (the nice one, not that crazy European dude who might smack you with a walking stick), carriage rides and all the holiday goodwill you can carry away with you.

Holiday for the Birds In his 1963 classic The Birds, Hitchcock showed us what can happen when birds go too long without a little holiday break. So to keep us all safe, once a year the Mt. Lebanon Nature Conservancy holds Holiday for the Birds, to let the little guys blow off some steam. At 10 a.m., Saturday, December 5, at the library, preschoolers (ages 3 to 6) can make a biodegradable bird feeder, hear stories, and learn about local birds and animals with naturalist Verna McGinley. You need to pre-register at chrisgphillips@verizon.net or call 412-341-7307.

Purses and money What else would you ever want to win? The November 6 event costs $40 a ticket, available at the Outreach office, 666 Washington Road. For will-call tickets, call 412-561-5405.
