Community comes together, finds shoe, goat

Someone called it a modern-day Mt. Lebanon Cinderella story. It started with Rockylnn Place resident Taryn Boyd’s post on a community Facebook page named (tongue-in-cheek) for Mt. Lebanon Housewives:
This is RANDOM but what the heck … I think my Birkenstock “fell out of my car” when my son had my car Saturday. Any chance anyone found it? Picture of what it looks like.
Within minutes, two people, both named Jennifer, reported they had seen it leaning against the wall of Anne Gregory Couture on Washington Road. Then came a flood of ladies who had also seen it. Before long, Sharon Adam declared “All of Lebo has seen your shoe.”
Kristi Simpson added, “I noticed it because you don’t usually see an adult shoe that was clearly lost.”
Others sympathized, understandably. Birkenstocks are infinitely comfortable and not at all cheap.
Perhaps the highlight was the comment from Kristin Porter Kiester, who had seen the shoe and “I felt sad for it and took a picture,” followed by a snap of said picture.
Finally, Boyd updated: “This is so funny to me. It must’ve fallen out when my kid and his friends were uptown. I can’t believe how many people saw it. I called the bridal store, they brought it in and it’s safe.”
Daisy Brown proclaimed: “This is the town to lose your shoe.”
Apparently, this is also the town to lose your baby goat. We shared a similar post in July about Gavin Paracca’s escaped goat and it drew so much attention that an eagle-eyed neighbor spotted the kid and returned “Tugboat” to his rightful owner.
