COMMISSION BUSINESS The first commission meeting of the new year is an organizational meeting, in which the commission chooses its officers, appoints commissioners as liaisons to the community’s boards and authorities, and selects its representatives to intergovernmental organizations and committees. Commissioner Dave Brumfield is this year’s president and Steve Silverman is vice president.

In the coming months, mtl will present profiles of the various boards and organizations the commissioners work with.
