Mt. Lebanon’s Commercial Districts Office provides support services to the community’s primary business districts and their related business and professional associations.
The office works closely with the Mt. Lebanon Partnership, a nonprofit development corporation, and with Mt. Lebanon’s Economic Development Council, a seven-member board charged with advising the Mt. Lebanon Commission on economic and community development.
The office maintains a listing of available office and retail space [2] in each of Mt. Lebanon’s business districts.
Uptown (Washington Road)
The Washington Road business district is nearing completion of the Vibrant Uptown streetscape project. Vibrant Uptown 2.0 will begin this year, addressing streets and nodes apart from Washington Road, but integral to the Uptown district experience.
Washington Road community events include First Fridays, a street fair held on the first Fridays of June, July and August; the Uptown Market, a farmers market from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturdays starting mid-May and continuing through October, in the South Lot, across from Washington Elementary School; the Artists’ Market, a juried arts and crafts show slated for October 1-2 in the Academy Avenue parking lot.
Beverly Road
The Beverly Road business district runs along Beverly Road from Overlook Drive to Ralston Place. Beverly Road offers shoppers a great mix of retail and services, from restaurants to boutique shops to fitness and wellness centers. Beverly Road businesses sometimes host sidewalk sales and special events, including Beverly Brite Nite in December.
Castle Shannon Boulevard
Castle Shannon Boulevard is seeing new activity in 2022 with the introduction of a long-awaited restaurant across from Hitchhiker Brewing, and changes to the commercial building at the corner of Castle Shannon Boulevard and Scott Road.
