brew fest 2014

If you haven’t purchased your Brew Fest tickets yet, hurry up! Tickets have been on sale since the beginning of August and the committee does not plan to sell tickets at the gate for this year’s event, Saturday, September 20, from 4 to 7.

The popular craft beer tasting event will be held again this year in the Academy Parking Lot on Academy Avenue off Washington Road in the central business district. All the good things people like will remain the same—including that fact that the proceeds benefit maintenance of the Mt. Lebanon Veterans Memorial and programming for veterans. But there are some improvements, too:

This year admission—a $40 donation—provides unlimited beer, tasting glasses, and music by Pittsburgh’s popular rock cover band Good Brother Earl. But in addition for the first time, guests also will get a tasty meal from Nicky’s BBQ—a great addition to the dozens of brews supplied by Frank Fuhrer Wholesale, East End Brewing and Hitchhiker Brewing. And there will be no worries about the weather for the “rain or shine” event. A huge tent will cover most of the parking lot, shielding people from hot sun or heavy rain, in case the weather is not perfect.

The committee has been working hard on plans for Brew Fest since last spring in cooperation with the Mt. Lebanon Partnership, which secured the permit to serve alcohol.

Brew Fest is always a mixed crowd of various ages with a shared love of fun and beer. The event is open only to people 21 and over, however, and IDs will be checked at the gate.

Purchase tickets online [1] and they will be held at the “Will Call” desk at the event.
