Bear Scavenger Hunt Winners Announced

A brother and sister are the grand prize winners of the Bear scavenger hunt conducted over the summer by Mt. Lebanon Police Department’s K-9 unit.
Henry and Lucy Pickenpaugh, Craigview Drive, visited Mt. Lebanon Public Library, Mineo’s Pizza and Scoops on Beverly to pick up trading cards featuring Bear, the police department’s scent discriminate bloodhound. “Going to all these different places was really fun,” said Lucy.
Henry’s favorite part was getting ice cream.
Participants had to collect all three cards and visit the Mt. Lebanon Public Safety Center, 555 Washington Road, to claim their prize. A random drawing of 300 entries was then held to award the grand prize, which included a $50 Learning Express gift card and the chance to meet Bear and pose with him for a trading card.
“It was something fun for kids to do during the summer and the kids got to interact with us,” said K-9 Officer Dan McBride.
Henry and Lucy’s parents kept the big announcement a surprise until it was time for the two grand prize winners to meet Bear in person and pose for their trading card photo. The kids were thrilled!
