be an energy (and water) camel

You can join the Mt. Lebanon Environmental Sustainability Board in saving energy and water and by doing so, have a herd of plastic camels placed in your yard for recognition as part of the Energy Camel program.

Simply send the ESB information comparing one month to the next (for as long as you like) or comparing one year to the next.  Please send us the following information: the number of people who live in your home, your zip code, your primary heating source, your monthly electricity (kWh) usage, the amount of green power that you purchase, your natural gas (therms or thousand cubic feet) usage, and your water usage (gallons) for two to 12 months (via a Private Facebook Message) and we will help you calculate your greenhouse gas emissions reduction and air pollution reduction.camels

If you send an estimation of how much you recycle (ie: your recycling equals 25 percent, 50 percent, or 75 percent of your trash sent to landfill and what types of materials you recycle), we can factor that information into the calculation too.  We can also help you calculate vehicular emissions if you send us the number of vehicles, approximate gas mileage per vehicle, and the number of miles that you travel in each vehicle per month or per year.

Please tell us if you would like to share your savings (via a Facebook post) and we will post it for you.  If you feel comfortable sharing your name and address and want to have some FUN, we can “herd” your front yard with Energy & Water Camels for 24 to 48 hours. Your household will also receive Energy & Water Camel clings to display in your home or car windows.  You can help us share the Energy & Water Camel Message with your neighbors.
