Ballerina Haley Jennings ready for stardom
Mt. Lebanon resident Haley Jennings has been dancing since she was four years old. As a teenager, Haley joined the Pittsburgh Youth Ballet Company and sought out founder Jean Gedeon to help solidify her training as a classical dancer.
Now 18, Haley is considering offers from the Atlanta Ballet, Richmond Ballet (including a one-year full merit scholarship) and American Ballet Theatre. She is excited to begin training with Boston Ballet on scholarship this summer where she will be working towards a trainee position in the fall.
“Pittsburgh Youth Ballet is my home,” says Haley. “Jean Gedeon and my other teachers at pybco gave me the guidance and training which inspired me to pursue a career in ballet.”
There’s still time to catch this rising star in action when she appears in the Pittsburgh Youth Ballet Company’s spring performances of “Swan Lake” and George Balanchine’s “Who Cares?” Performances will be April 21 and 22 at Upper St. Clair Theater. Contact www.pybco.org for information and tickets.
