Local Author Forums Two evenings of panel discussions, 7 p.m., Tuesday, November 8 and 15, will showcase Pittsburgh-area authors talking about their writing processes and books. The authors will sell and sign their books. There will be light refreshments. Authors are: James Hollock, Born to Lose: Stanley B. Hoss and the Crime Spree that Gripped a Nation; Nancy Jean Morrison, How to Help Your Children Pursue Their Natural Gift; Mt. Lebanon Library staff member Beverly Wilhelm,Wrapped in Smoke;  Steve Hallock, Justice Delayed: The Catherine Janet Walsh Story;  David Borland, Burgh Ku, Helespont and others; Dorit Sasson, Accidental Soldier: A Memoir of Service and Sacrifice in the Israel Defense Forces; Lily Liqi Pietryka, China’s Second Wives; Dr. Steven Orebaugh, A Night in the Life and others. Holiday Concert with Susannne Ortner 7 p.m., Monday, November 21 Enjoy eclectic music by German clarinetist Susanne Ortner and her band. Expect an evening of classical music, traditional Klezmer pieces, and jazz tunes in unusual arrangements. Ortner is internationally known both as a soloist and as a member of various chamber music, jazz and Klezmer ensembles.

 

Book Cellar Holiday Shop From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Friday, November 11 and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, November 12, the library’s used book store will put its entire inventory of holiday books and decorative items out for a special sale.
