Are you an artist who would love to try working at art fairs but you’re new to it? Maybe you’re trying out a new career or retiring from work and looking to fulfill your dream of being an artist? The Mt. Lebanon Artists’ Market, presented by the Mt. Lebanon Partnership, is looking for you. The arts festival, held in the Academy Avenue parking lot the weekend of September 24 and 25, will salute an emerging artist—someone new to the arts fair industry—who is submitting work to a juried arts festival for the first time. Age doesn’t matter.
“We want to honor their initiative and provide encouragement,” says organizer Wendy Denenberg.
The festival is looking for volunteers to help with the weekend. If you’d like to help out with this large-scale, well-known community event, contact Carla Clipper at mtlebanonevents@gmail.com [1].
Are you interested in coloring? The Mt. Lebanon Artists’ Market is having a coloring contest this year. Pittsburgh artist Rick Antolic will design a coloring page depicting the market and festival jurors will pick the award winners in age categories based on artistic impression. Winners and runners-up will be displayed in the municipal building after they are announced Sunday. And yes, winners get prizes.
