GET READY TO DIVE IN  The summer of 2014 is definitely the year to buy Mt. Lebanon season pool passes early. With passes going on sale March 3 for a 10 percent discount, you can save the most and guarantee your spot on the lawn of the completely renovated swim center. Set to open June 15, the pool has something for every age, whether it’s a little one in the shallow end or a senior who loves to peacefully swim laps. (Keep checking mtl for details about the grand opening bash.) This year, the pool will be heated, have a zero depth (beach-style) entry, fun amenities like a speed flume, water slide and climbing wall, plus totally renovated bathhouse facilities with private changing rooms and family bathrooms.

Passes cost $87 for an adult resident and start at $250 for a family. But there are discounts for seniors and children ages 4 to 19. (Kids 3 and younger are free). But don’t delay. The discount ends April 30.

PIPELINE IMPROVEMENT PROJECT Columbia Gas will be working in Mission Hills through late May, replacing existing pipe along Jefferson, Mission, Avon, Brucewood and Parkway Drives.

Crews are working weekdays between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. with temporary closures at times during those hours.

The project, which will benefit 300 residents, will require temporary interruption of natural gas service to individual customers while their service is connected to the new gas main. Columbia Gas will notify those customers personally prior to shutting off service and to schedule service restoration.

All Columbia Gas employees and contractors carry identification cards with their name, photo and ID number. For further information, call the gas company at 724-416-6300. Or go to www.columbiagaspa.com and click on “Infrastructure Upgrade,” then “Are you working in my community?”
