Animal Control recaps 2011
This year, South Hills Cooperative Animal Control took in 153 dogs with 13 of those going to one of the three area shelters (Animal Rescue League, the Western Pennsylvania Humane Society and Animal Friends) to find homes. Only two had to be euthanized and even then, that was only necessary because one was very ill and the other was deemed a danger. Remember to get a license for your dog and to have dogs and cats chipped so officers can make an ID in case the collar were to break.
Sadly, animal control did respond to 40 cat fatalities on local roads. Please keep an eye on your cats.
