Austin Martin, Mt. Lebanon High School class of 2023, received the Bob Johnson Memorial Scholarship from the Pittsburgh Penguins Foundation.

The foundation awards the $5,000 scholarship annually to a western Pennsylvania high school senior hockey player for academic excellence, community service, sportsmanship and leadership.

Martin, a goaltender for the Blue Devils, served as one of his team’s captains during his senior year. He finished the 2022-23 season with a .911 save percentage, ranking fourth in the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Hockey League. He graduated with a 3.6 weighted GPA and spent time mentoring youth hockey players. Martin attends Ohio University and is pursuing a degree in Special Education.

 
Mt. Lebanon Assistant PIO Rachel Windsor

Rachel Windsor is Mt. Lebanon’s new assistant public information officer and senior editor for Mt. Lebanon Magazine. She earned her bachelor of arts in political science from American University and has a diverse background working in nonprofits, communications and government. She looks forward to writing about some of her personal interests, which include live music, anything involving animals and unique new restaurants. A native Pittsburgher, Windsor lives in Upper St. Clair with her two cats, Pinto and Kiwi.
