LOOKING FOR TOP GRADS Mt. Lebanon High School is accepting nominations for the 2023 Great Alumni Award. The award, given by the Mt. Lebanon High School Student Council, honors people who have demonstrated outstanding accomplishments either personally or professionally after graduating from Mt. Lebanon High School. If you know of a Mt. Lebanon graduate who has significantly improved the lives of others, contributed significant volunteer work or public service, or achieved significant advancement in their professional field, download a nomination form. Deadline for submission is April 15.

BINGO! The Mt. Lebanon Junior Women’s Club’s annual fundraiser will take place from 6 to 9 p.m., Saturday, March 4, at the Café Delhi Hall in Carnegie. The event is called Viva El Bingo, so you can probably figure out the theme. Cash prizes, food and raffle items are part of the festivities. Proceeds benefit Art Expression of Mt. Lebanon, an arts and academic enrichment nonprofit. Purchase tickets online.

MLPD IS HIRING The Mt. Lebanon police department has several openings for probationary police officers. Application deadline is 4 p.m., Thursday, March 16. Applicants must be U.S. citizens over the age of 21, with a valid driver’s license and a bachelor’s degree, and must reside within 25 air miles of the Mt. Lebanon Public Safety Center. NEW COURSE MANAGER Colin Agster is Mt. Lebanon’s new golf course manager, taking over for Dave Boal, who retired in January. Agster, who has a degree in business administration and sports management from Robert Morris University, has been a course starter with Mt. Lebanon since 2008. In that role, he oversaw golf course and pro shop operations, scheduling tee times and organizing junior golf programs, among other responsibilities.

“Colin has worked at the golf course for many years,” said Recreation Director David Donnellan.

“He knows the operations extremely well. He has the overwhelming support of the golf community, which is a testament to the service he has provided over the years. I am looking forward to working with Colin as we continue to provide a positive golf experience for the community.”

NEW IN INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY Kathy Montgomery has been hired as a support specialist by Mt. Lebanon Municipality’s information technology department. Montgomery has a degree in computer information systems from Robert Morris University, and comes to Mt. Lebanon from Tulip Systems, where she worked as a programmer and IT specialist for more than 30 years.

HISTORIC HOUSES The Historical Society of Mount Lebanon is selling medallions identifying those properties in the Mt. Lebanon National Register Historic District as contributing to the historic designation. The cast aluminum medallions are 6 inches in diameter and include mounting screws and anchors. Cost is $214.
