Staff
Editor in Chief Laura Pace Lilley came to Mt. Lebanon Magazine in 2007 after nine years with the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, seven years at CBS radio and two years with a Knight-Ridder newspaper. She has extensive experience covering local government, school districts and economic development. Laura lives in Mt. Lebanon with her husband, Myles, border collies, Roxanne and Spot, and son, Harrison.
Senior Editor Rachel Windsor joined Mt. Lebanon Magazine in 2023. She holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from American University, worked in nonprofits, government and public relations, and does freelance work for local publications and businesses. Rachel is a native Pittsburgher (from the northern side of the city though, sorry) and lives in Mt. Lebanon with her two cats, Pinto and Kiwi.
Managing Editor Merle Jantz has been a professional writer since 1990. He has received several regional, state and national writing awards. He has worked for Gateway Publications and has done freelance work for a number of magazines and newspapers. His proudest moment was having a question published in Norman Chad’s Couch Slouch column.
Graphic Design Team Lead Amy Robinson has 20+ years of higher education marketing experience as the Marketing Strategy Lead for Nova Southeastern University and the Creative Director for Robert Morris University. Her combination of agency and in-house creative team experience gives her a unique perspective on design and marketing strategies. Robinson holds an associate degree in graphic design from Pittsburgh Technical College and a bachelor’s degree in organizational leadership from Robert Morris University. Outside of work, she’s a school board member for Northgate School District. She lives in Bellevue with her husband, daughter and an orange cat named Rebecca.
Designer Christopher Leeper comes to us with a diverse portfolio of work, from magazine to websites to logos and photography. Leeper was a design intern for Psychology Today in New York City and was a graphic designer for Century 21 Department Stories in New York, Dreamware Inc. in Florida and NutriMost in Pittsburgh. He also works freelance for several clients and plays the drums and guitar.
Content Creator Marsha Morgenstern joined us in 2024, with more than 20 years experience in communications and writing for BNY Mellon, Pittsburgh International Airport and Women in Bio, to name a few. Morgenstern holds a bachelor’s degree in communications and two master’s degrees in business communications and adult education and training. Additionally, she’s an associate faculty member at University of Phoenix. Morgenstern moved to the Pittsburgh area in 2006 from Southwest Florida, and now lives in Bethel Park with her husband, Eric, their son, Zachary and their dog, Bella.
Advertising Manager Steve Karlovich spent the past several years selling real estate in the Pittsburgh area. A graduate of the University of Pittsburgh, he began his career working at The Pittsburgh Business Times and later Executive Report Magazine as the director of art and production. He went on to own a small advertising and design agency where he developed advertising campaigns for a variety of clients. Steve, a lifelong Mt. Lebanon resident, lives here with his wife, Marianne. In his spare time, he can be found working on his classic car, gardening or attempting to fish.
Public Information Office Assistant Karen Gottschall feels that her life has come full circle. Her first job out of college was at the Washingtonian Magazine in Washington DC. Many years later, after raising her family, she spent seven years at the circulation desk of Mt. Lebanon Library, followed by various administrative positions. She is happy that she found her way back to the municipality and to Mt. Lebanon Magazine. Karen resides in Dormont and enjoys visiting her adult children, staying active, trying new microbrews and traveling.
Account Executives
Jill Doverspike Lane comes to Mt. Lebanon Magazine with several years of experience in the newspaper and magazine industry, both in media marketing and journalism. After graduating from Penn State, she moved to Pittsburgh to pursue a career in advertising. She has a passion for people and loves helping local businesses expand their reach through print and digital solutions. Jill volunteers her time aiding in media coordination with local non-profits, and in her spare time enjoys exploring new coffee shops, antiquing/thrifting, and spending time outdoors with her husband, Addison, and son, Atlas.
Mt. Lebanon resident Mark Zigarovich has been helping local businesses for the past 20 years. As an Advertising Manager and Director at Trib Total Media, Mark has worked in both the Retail and Classified categories. One of his favorite career milestones was spearheading the initial sales effort to get the Trib’s online High School Sports Network off the ground. Mark has one son, Alex, a law student in North Carolina. When he’s not at the Saloon or exploring our community, he enjoys live music and home brewing. A lifelong baseball fan, Mark spends most of his summer at PNC Park and hopes to be around for the Pirates next World Championship.
Jody Sherman brings many years of sales and marketing expertise to Mt. Lebanon Magazine. Mainly in hospitality, she has held a number of mid-senior level sales and operations positions where her collaborative contributions were recognized. A Mt. Lebanon resident, she enjoys knitting and frequents the wonderful restaurants Uptown.
Diana Pasternak joined the Mt. Lebanon Magazine advertising team in 2024. She brings decades of experience in local radio advertising and online sales to the role. Originally from northern Michigan, Diana has lived in Mt. Lebanon since 1992. Diana is an avid equestrian and spends significant time in Bentleyville with her dressage horse, Zoltan.
