Mt. Lebanon is a musical mecca this weekend, with four days of concerts, from ragtime to reggae and everything in between.

“Uptown Mt. Lebanon will be the place to be this weekend, as the district is hosting not just First Friday, but the Uptown Unveiled event,” said Eric Milliron, economic development and commercial districts manager.

Here’s a rundown of what you can expect:

Thursday, August 3: While Martin Spitznagel’s ragtime performance is sold out, there are still a few spots available for Mt. Lebanon Public Library’s Concerts in the Courtyard series on August 17, 24, and 31. If you already snagged tickets for this week’s performance, you’re ahead of the game and can enjoy four straight days of music in Lebo.

“Our courtyard concerts have become a highlight of the summer and attract a dedicated following from both our patrons (concerts “sell out” quickly) and the musicians,” said M.A. Jackson, senior library assistant. “The library is thrilled to have been able to spotlight great local musical talent for more than two decades!”

Friday, August 4: Wizdom Reggae Band performs at the last First Friday of 2023, 7 to 10 p.m., Clearview Common.

Founded by Kingston, Jamaica native Errol Wizdom, this band performs multiple genres of music, including rock and funk.

Saturday, August 5: Six musical performances are on tap for Uptown Unveiled.

“There truly is something for everyone! “ said Milliron.

Washington Road will be closed down to traffic and open to pedestrians, so you can dance your way through the streets. Performances are slated for Clearview Common and Clocktower Plaza.

Clearview Common

Noon-2 p.m.: Dan Petrich

Mt. Lebanon’s own! Petrich has been writing and performing folk music for over a decade.

2-4 p.m.: Fungus

A Deadhead’s delight! Fungus is Pittsburgh’s premiere jam band featuring the music of the Grateful Dead.

4-6 p.m. Big Fat Mallard

Get your funk on with Big Fat Mallard. This 10 piece funk band calls itself “the funkiest thing to come out of Pittsburgh since purple ketchup.”

Clocktower Plaza

Noon-2 p.m.: Mackin Duo

Bluegrass and old time country music.

2-4 p.m.: Pat Hodge

Early 20^th century guitar.

4-6 p.m.: Vinyl Remains DJ Explosion

DJ sounds by Uptown’s own Vinyl Remains owner Greg Anderson.

Sunday, August 6: The final Music in the Park of the summer goes from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on the Mt. Lebanon Main Park courts.
