The West End-Elliott Overlook Park 

This little park is just about perfect for picnicking. The park is under used and there is a flat, shaded grass area to lay out your blanket and enjoy the breathtaking view.

Grandview Park on Bailey Avenue

This park certainly lives up to its name. The view is grand and there are a few picnic tables, a walking trail around the park, a playground for the youngsters and hiking trails in the woods.

Allegheny Commons Park and Lake Elizabeth 

This is the oldest park in Pittsburgh and contains monuments to George Washington, The Civil War and The Spanish American War.

The park area outside The National Aviary is nicely shaded with ample grass to spread out your picnic blanket.

The park includes the lovely and charming bench lined Lake Elizabeth with its arched bridges, cherry trees and its magnificent Civil War monument.

Other amenities include an unfenced dog park, many war memorials, the iconic shaved ice cart and The Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh.
