he Mt. Lebanon Finance Department is responsible for overseeing an operating budget of $37.2 million for 2023 and a combined budget of $60 million.
The department’s financial practices have paid off with a bond rating of Aa2 from Moody’s, Inc., one of the top three credit rating firms, as well as numerous national awards for its financial reporting.
The tax office collects real estate tax for both the municipality and the school district. The office is also responsible for cash collection oversight for all municipal funds.
NEW Expect a rollout in late 2023 of a new property tax and fee collection and billing system for 2024 that will allow residents to apply for eBill and get a notification (either by text or email) when their bill is ready. Watch your mailbox and check Mt. Lebanon Magazine for details on when and how to apply.
NOTEWORTHY Parking patrons can now pay parking tickets online via MyLebo, free of credit card fees.
The 2023 property tax bills will be hitting mailboxes June 1. Payments can be made online via MyLebo. Checks are free, but fees apply with credit cards. Online taxpayers receive an immediate receipt and can view their payment history and amount due.
Note: The property tax due dates are established by Pennsylvania law. Mt. Lebanon does not have the authority to waive additional fees assessed for late payments.
NEED TO KNOW The MyLebo online payment portal for taxes will be activated on June 1. Using the portal to pay electronically will avoid mail delays. Alternatively, taxpayers can pay in-office or via the secure payment drop boxes located outside of the municipal building, accessible 24/7. Mt. Lebanon honors postmarks as payment effective dates. The treasury office is planning to consolidate the three boxes into one, which will be situated at an as-yet-undetermined location.
Note: The Mt. Lebanon Tax Office is not responsible for fees, penalties and loss of discount due to overdrafts or postdated checks or customer bank discrepancies.
